Quick start

Master your footage in three moves

Upscale.AI is a high-performance cloud processor. It runs state-of-the-art super-resolution and temporal interpolation models via fal.ai.

Ingest and Target

Upload your AI-generated JPG, PNG, or MP4. Select your Upscale Factor (2× or 4×) and target model based on your source generator.

Deploy the Pipeline

For video, toggle Frame Interpolation to 60fps. Use the 'Pipeline' tab to chain super-resolution and temporal smoothing in a single pass.

Review and Compare

Use the live Before/After slider to inspect texture restoration. Download your production-ready 4K / 60fps master once processing completes.

fal.ai Integration

Processing happens on high-end cloud GPUs via fal.ai. This allows you to upscale 4K video in minutes rather than hours on a local machine.

Tip

A fal.ai API key is required. Processing is billed per job, typically costing $0.01 per image and $0.10+ per video clip.

Source Selection

Match the upscaler to your generator. Select "Kling" for cinematic realism or "Anime" for illustrated styles to ensure the correct texture bias.

Super-Resolution (2× / 4×)

2× is ideal for social content; 4× is required for 4K broadcast standards. Real-ESRGAN intelligently predicts missing pixel data.

Frame Interpolation

Boost 24fps to 60fps. RIFE AI calculates intermediate frames to eliminate the "jitter" common in raw AI video output.

Clarity AI (Stable Diffusion)

Toggle this for "generative upscaling." It doesn't just sharpen pixels—it synthesizes new, high-fidelity AI texture on top of your source.

Batch Processing

Upload a folder of stills from a shoot. Upscale.AI processes them sequentially, saving results to your session history automatically.

Before/After Slider

A critical QC tool. Drag the handle to inspect skin textures, fabric weaves, and atmospheric bloom at 100% zoom before downloading.

Always increase resolution before adding frames. RIFE AI performs significantly better on high-detail sources than on low-res, artifact-heavy clips.

Your results are stored in the browser's session history. If you're running a long video job, you can switch tabs, but don't close the browser.

Clarity: Subtle vs Creative

Use 'Subtle' for character close-ups to maintain likeness. Use 'Creative' for wide landscapes where the AI can safely add complex organic detail.
